Published on Jul 13, 2017 Memphis Tennessee (WREG) — A group calling themselves the Memphis Flash Mob Cartel took to social media saying they'll be at the Wolfchase Galleria mall beating down people because of the color of their skin.
It could be a hoax or it could really happen, but either way it's getting a reaction.
Feelings of concern started to sweep social media.
"Very alarming to just be picking people out to do damage to them, that doesn't make any sense," Brenda Thompson said.
Thompson doesn't understand why anyone would choose to cause more division in the city.
"I think it's crazy like everything else in Memphis, does it mean white people? I don't understand, I don't know."
Good luck with that.
The police really won’t like black people in Memphis after that.
That’ll rouse the invisible army.
Won’t be pretty.

We were in Memphis for one night back in the 1990’s. Went to a mall near Elvis’s house. We were the only white people in the mall. Literally.

Black youth are extremely reckless on social media so don’t discount this.
Of course, they will just go after all the ones that look PJ boy and old women.
Remember, you are not expected to be able to fight off a mob with your hands...multiple unarmed people are just as much a threat as any gun or knife and these particular participants have a penchant for kicking people to death.
Recently drove to the east coast from the west, via Memphis. Because of previous bad vibes in west Memphis on another trip, decided to keep driving for hours late into the night to get to Birmingham, AL. No way will I ever stop in Memphis again.

The Mall has been the hood for decades
That’s not a great part of town these days. Believe it or not, it was once a nice area, but it’s been a long time. I haven’t been inside that mall in at least thirty years.
Memphis is like most cities. We have crime-ridden hoods and nice, safe, upscale family neighborhoods and suburbs. It’s all about knowing what’s what. Most of the crime is black on black and confined to certain areas. I’m in Birmingham several times a year. It’s much the same.
