I like to imagine California voting to leave

I wouldn't. The idea that California - the richest state in the union - can be taken away by a gaggle of liberals in the SF Bay Area and LA is outrageous. California doesn't get that option. It must and will stay in the union - but will hopefully be broken up into several smaller states which can more fully reflect the wishes of their respective areas.

California wouldn't remain the richest state if they left. All those big companies that reside there do so to do business in the United States, and they'd pack up and leave.
