“Pro-humanity” is a two way street. Civility and the social contract only apply if all those involved honor it. Juries enforce it using the assumption that those who break it first are the more guilty, and they look more favorably on those who, once it is broken, try to restore it.

The biggest offender of all is not a person, but alcohol and drugs, because they strip people of their civility and let their uncivilized personality come to the fore.

FYI "The 69th Infantry Regiment is an infantry regiment of the United States Army. It is from New York City, part of the New York Army National Guard. It is known as the "Fighting Sixty-Ninth",[1] a name said to have been given by Robert E. Lee during the Civil War.
