Ruling applies nationwide and means grandparents, grandchildren, aunts, uncles and cousins are no longer subject to the ban

WASHINGTON—A Hawaii judge late Thursday ordered a nationwide loosening of President Donald Trump’s temporary ban on U.S. entry for some travelers from six Muslim-majority countries, ruling the administration’s strict approach contradicted a recent Supreme Court ruling.

I think some Hawaiian judge is just begging to be impeached.

“We are not going to get rid of one of our few good legislators to placate the bruised egos of those who didn’t like how close he came to beating Trump in the primaries.”

Cruz is not a man to be trusted. And as far as his “coming close” to beating Trump, that is only in your dreams. And FWIT, my egon isn’t at all bruised, but my eyes are open. His dirty tricks campaign changed my opinion of him forever. I initially saw him as a man who could serve in a Trump administration, but I found him to be lacking in basic moral character.
As far as Trump burying the hatchet, Trump is a man who smoothes things, but make no mistake, he does not trust Cruz. I am like Trump when it comes to evaluating people. Being a Conservative isn’t a be all and end all, I mean look at McConnell and all the “conservatives” in the Senate who are effing the president day in and day out. There are those in Texas who will not vote for Cruz again. If I were a Texan, I’d not favor him with my vote.

If they’re so smart, how come they don’t deport their volcano.

What makes you think he isn’t taking the judge vacancies seriously? Schumer and company, aided by McConnell, are obstructing in every way they can.

Guess they never heard of the 9-0 ruling by the Supremes.

No, this is EXACTLY what Justice Thomas predicted in his separate opinion:

Moreover, I fear that the Court’s remedy will prove unworkable. Today’s compromise will burden executive officials with the task of deciding—on peril of contempt— whether individuals from the six affected nations who wish to enter the United States have a sufficient connection to a person or entity in this country. See ante, at 11– 12. The compromise also will invite a flood of litigation until this case is finally resolved on the merits, as parties and courts struggle to determine what exactly constitutes a “bona fide relationship,” who precisely has a “credible claim” to that relationship, and whether the claimed relationship was formed “simply to avoid §2(c)” of Executive Order No. 13780, ante, at 11, 12. And litigation of the factual and legal issues that are likely to arise will presumably be directed to the two District Courts whose initial orders in these cases this Court has now— unanimously—found sufficiently questionable to be stayed as to the vast majority of the people potentially affected.

That is my reaction as well. Take a few thousand of our current crop and send them to the island this judge lives on and then do the same with each and every newcomer. Justice would be putting this judge in a position where HE becomes the one crying for fewer refugees.

Only need a simple majority. It’ about getting the person out of committee and the vote on the docket. That’s where the Dems are playing games.

So , Sessions and Trump just stall until Oct and ignore this Radical left wing nut and tell the 9th to shut down this clown down .
The 9th warned this clown once already about overreaching .

Why wouldn’t the Supreme Court immediately overrule that judge?

Until Trump takes judge vacancies seriously (only nominated 10 out of 168) then heck with him. Yes I think Trump is great but he is screwing himself and only has himself to blame. Wake up Mr. President.

Trump? T. only need Tweet re: SCOTUS and original jurisdiction.

The BIGGER question is: Where the F* is CONGRESS?? Judicial overreach and ‘leadership’ is....???

The SCOTUS is the final ruling. Trump needs to ignore this Dist judge who is totally out of line.

I don’t think their ashamed with their faith or God, rather their respective human clergies failings and application of their faith. Sadly those bad examples seem to help people over look the good things God has taught us.

DAPA (DACA for parents) was struck down as illegal. Like DACA, it was an Obama royal decree.
Let’s take H’a’w’a’i’i’s statehood away and give it to another 3rd world island, Puerto Rico, and see if they can do any better with it.
We wouldn’t have to change the flag or nuthin’.

Not necessary. SCOTUS has already issued its temporary ruling, superseding any other court action.

The Hawaii judge in essence told SCOTUS to go screw themselves and seems to have forgotten he is overruled.

Typical WSJ action, not giving the judge’s name. They are trying to stir sentiment but hiding the judge temporarily. Why not be up front and give the judge’s name first. They are hoping people will just read the first part and then just put the story down.

So with this ruling I guess he has sort of declared himself the super supreme emperor of the court. 1-0 Tojo overrules the supremes? Doesn’t work that way.
