If the case had any merit, it was settled on unusually favorable terms for Natalia Veselnitskaya's clients.
If the case had no merits was some sort of pressure being applied or some sort of coercion taking place.
The fact that case was settled very soon after Bharara left could be significant.
At any rate, it would not be a bad idea to look at the settlement of the lawsuit in the context the meeting with Donald Trump Jr, attempts by Democrats and Republicans to fabricate a dossier on President Trump and the illegal spying on the Trump campaign.

It was never supposed to be publicized Hildy (imo).
It was done to help fool a judge into granting a fisa warrant - such warrant was the political use of government tools to damage a political opponent.
But as their narrative falls apart, this seems to represent something of a kitchen sink to throw...
More will come out like this...all from the fisa warrant. It’ll be in tidbits and released in a way to attempt to damage Trump.
When Jr. released it all, he short circuited that plan for this leak anyway.
