Seeking influence with U.S. leaders who are not President Donald Trump, Justin Trudeau will be the first Canadian prime minister to deliver a speech to a major conference of American state governors.
Trudeau will give the keynote address at the National Governors Association meeting in Providence, Rhode Island next Friday, just over a month before the expected opening of North American Free Trade Agreement renegotiation talks.
Trudeaus address will focus on trade, his government said in a news release, and he will also emphasize the importance of the Canada-U.S. partnership in cross-border security and the potential for common solutions on climate change.
The address is part of Trudeaus effort to build relationships with U.S. officials at the state and local levels. On the whole, state governors are far more pro-NAFTA than Trump, who calls the deal a catastrophe.(continued)

If I was a citizen who was in one of the states in attendance I would file an injunction suit since it is unconstitutional for a State to engage in Foreign Policy.
Might just as well invite Raul Castro.
One would think that Canadians would be hesitant to deliver a bitter insult to the 60+ million Americans who voted for President Trump.
Obviously, that would be giving them too much credit.

WHO is in charge of the Governor’s????
So, who is going to put an end to democrat sedition? Huh?
I am sick of it.
Don’t allow him into the country.
How would Trudeau react if Trump were to meet with Canadian provincial governments?
He should go to Alberta and try.
This is the guy who just gave $10 millions and an apology to a terrorist who killed and maimed US soldiers!
There is no solution to climate change, IDIOTS.
PM Zoolander
WHO is in charge of the Governors????
I don’t know but the majority (33) are Republicans.
a former Canadian PM, Kim Campbell, also meddled in our election. A month before the election, she had a news conference and publically labeled Donald Trump “a sexual predator”. That was a clear attempt to influence the outcome of a US election by a representative of a foreign government.
36 Republican governors, 16 Democrats and one “Independent” who says Alaska is still focused on addressing climate change. (Apparently they don’t make AK governors like they used to.) So with Republicans outnumbering Dims by more than 2 to 1 the Trudeau child may be in for an interesting time.
Make that 33 Republicans.
We should warn ALL REPUBLICAN GOVERNORS of the consequences if they attend! Never without our president!!!

If they pull this crap, they are in violation of the law.
In the meantime, no Maple syrup, blue berries, beer and whatever from Canada?
Anybody else have something to add to this no buy list?
The Constitution forbids states from entering into treaties or alliances with foreign nations.
