U.S. job growth rebounded in June, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Friday, as the economy created 222,000 new payroll jobs and the unemployment rate ticked up a tenth of a percentage point to 4.4 percent.
Economists in the private sector had projected around 170,000 new jobs for the month.
Friday's report provides reassurance that job growth remains strong even as unemployment, which is the lowest rate since 2001, falls to below where Federal Reserve officials think it can sustainably go.
Only around around 50,000 to 100,000 jobs are needed each month to match population growth and keep unemployment trending down, according to Fed analysis. Job growth has easily cleared that mark, averaging 194,000 over the past three months as the job tallies for May and April were both revised up by a combined 47,000.
And it appears that job growth is likely to continue. Layoffs have been increasingly rare, with claims for unemployment benefits running near the lowest levels in decades.

I believe a non-payroll employee is someone who works for an employer through an outside staffing agency.
This sounds good, but I’m still waiting for somebody to create a job for me.
Probably could be even better.
no golf ? puh
thank you
Looking behind the curtain, only 1000 jobs were in manufacturing. Majority of new jobs were in restaurants, retail, clerical. Prosperity and wealth creation requires gains in manufacturing, mining, agriculture and applied research.
If the rest of the country is like the surrounding areas of Memphis, they are min. wage fast food jobs, some building, not much else. Lots of fast food places going up, outer counties are seeing houses, bought to down or up size, some new ones, more than they will sell, those who work for city of Memphis MUST LIVE THERE!
Free Traitors do not believe that.
Winning!

(Actually, this is a laudatory article- for Zerohedge LOL!)
No game change yet, but not bad.
Mining jobs still rising.
I don’t believe that unemployment is that low. I think Trump is doing a good job, but these are the numbers they using when Obama was president. It’s probably around 8%.
Sure. Think about a plumber, or even a handyman. They are not on anyone's payroll, but they are working.
BLS classifies them as "independent contractors". Not necessarily a building contractor, but someone who works on jobs for an employer, but is not part of his permanent payroll.
Frequently they are short-term jobs, but not always.
