Gallup found the number of people describing themselves as "extremely proud" Americans has dropped from 70 percent in 2003 to just 52 percent in 2016. Just 34 percent of Americans ages 18 to 29 picked "extremely proud."

It would be very interesting to know the percentage of people polled were actually AMERICANS not just someone living in America?

I find the choice of years to compare unfair. 2003 was close after 9/11, and Americans were riding a wave of patriotism. No poll for the Obama years is mentioned, but the first year of a new President who has been attacked by the media like no one else is compared to the post 9/11 era?
