CNN, already down in the dumps about skewed coverage that led to the departure of three network news staffers, is now walking a Twitter hall of shame with a hashtag that showcases the company as less than honorable as one and the same with, say, mobsters and the criminal underworld.
#CNNBlackmail soared to the top of trending Twitter feeds in the United States, the somewhat predictable result of the companys seeming foray into well, blackmail. And of a private citizen, no less.
Heres whats going on: Sunday, President Donald Trump linked a video in his tweet that showed him wrestling CNN to the ground. The video was created by an individual who goes by the Reddit name of HanA**holeSolo.
The video caused quite a disturbance among the candy-eaters of the left, who cried that Trumps tweet of it constituted a call to violent arms against the media.
Solo then issued a lengthy apology, saying the meme was created purely as satire and was not meant to be a call to violence against CNN or any other news affiliation.
Obviously.

CNN got most of its info from the redit poster from the notoriously left-wing hate-group known as the ADL. CNN then took it even further by emailing the guy, and then threatening to expose his name and location. Both CNN and the ADL should be included in the blackmail hashtag campaign
Time Warner owns both CNN and Reddit. To which I can only add:They likely just shared his IP info with CNN and CNN created the backstory that the guy outed himself. If they had his IP from owning Reddit, thats obviously where they tracked him down.
If true, this is a criminal conspiracy, is clearly racketeering, and collusion between two or more corrupt organizations to commit a crime.
RICO!
Did Reddit give up the guys information? Not sure how CNN would find out who he was even if they got his IP address. Also he could probably just deny it was him all together.
See the above post — Time Warner owns CNN and Reddit. If he didn’t hide his IP, he was easy to track.
CNN claims they located him using info he posted online - said he lived in some state at a certain time, etc. But that’s not very likely.
This is a multi-billion dollar company vs. an internet troll.
This could happen to ANY member of FR in the future.
4chan has already posted the home addresses of the major hosts for CNN. The reporter’s family addresses and phone numbers are now on 4chan.
I don’t support doxxing - by us or them.
But this was a stupid move by CNN. That place will be hell to work for for months to come.
Looks like CNN has an opportunity to “be” the story at a crime scene.
Will this event be a crime seen by authorities?
Hulk Hogan Alert.
“Did Reddit give up the guys information? Not sure how CNN would find out who he was even if they got his IP address.”
They’ll never tell us, but the Discovery phase will.
And a private citizen can bring a RICO case to a court. Doesn’t need .gov to sanction it.
Was Time Warner Cable his cable provider? If they were, and they gave it up for the purpose of extortion by their CNN subsidiary, I'd call that VERY BAD. And, it should be actionable.
My understanding is that cable company agreements provide for some safeguarding of identity, unless it needs to be revealed by court order (as in a lawsuit) or to law enforcement presenting a warrant. Am I wrong, or just naive?
Something tells me reddit and time Warner had a hand in this.
Play by the same rules your enemy plays by. They could have just left it alone, but they always Double Down. There was no need for them to escalate this.
I'd love to see CNN talking heads forced to wear a *cone-of-shame* as penance while on the air. I'd pay to see that.
Probably so. I’m looking at the bright side - CNN just pissed off virtually every person who posts anything on line, which is 10s of millions of Americans, particularly younger ones that may have been drinking their Kool-Aid. Now when they here as pro-Trumpers attacking the media, even the liberal-leaning youngsters won’t be able to brush us off quite so easily.
I doubt we’ll ever know what was going through their minds at CNN, but this isn’t ending well for them.
But could CNN let it go? Nooooooooooooooooooo........
Where is the link to 4chan. I went to the site but couldn’t find it
“Not sure how CNN would find out who he was even if they got his IP address.”
I think a subpoena and a couple of FBI agents showing up at CNN’s door would provide answers.
Bob, what goes through a dogs mind, as it returns to it's vomit?
One of their anchors has the severed head of the president and CNN only fires her after a YUGE backlash.
Someone posts a GIF of no particular person just a CNN logo superimposed over a guy on wrestle-mania getting body slammed by the Trumpster and they resort to threatening to DOXX a MINOR to get them to capitulate to their demands.
Alex Jones was right again, CNN is ISIS
Just Sayin’
>>I think a subpoena and a couple of FBI agents showing up at CNNs door would provide answers.
It’s 2017. The FBI works for Deep State, not the Constitution.
