Media errors give Trump fresh ammunition
The Hill ^ | July 4,2017 | BY JONATHAN EASLEY -

Adding insult to injury: Breitbart News, the pro-Trump media outlet that is scorned by many in the mainstream press, has been fact-checking their mainstream counterparts with some success.

Breitbart’s Washington political editor Matthew Boyle was first to call into question a CNN story on alleged ties between a Trump associate and Russia that was later retracted. Boyle was also reporting on an error in an Associated Press report when the newswire corrected and later rewrote the story.

Together, the corrections and retractions amount to only a few stories out of the thousands published every day. But the high-profile nature of the errors hurts the media's credibility at a time when the press is under more scrutiny than ever before, giving new political ammunition to critics of the mainstream press.

“There’s a dramatic difference in the degree of hostility the press has shown Presidents Trump and Obama,” said Tim Graham, a director at the conservative Media Research Center. “I guess it’s easier to make errors writing stories where Trump is twirling his villain’s mustache than when you’re writing about how tone Michelle Obama’s arms are.”

Last week, the New York Times and the Associated Press ran similar corrections acknowledging that reports on Russian interference in the 2016 election had overstated by more than a dozen the number of U.S. intelligence agencies that had signed off on the assessment.

“errors”?

It’s propaganda plain and simple.

Lie’s to turn a nation against their president.

SOME success? They have a pretty good track record. W-a-a-a-y better than that of the mainstream press.

“writing about how tone Michelle Obama’s arms are.”

What a joke:) That’s the only part of her body that they could find that was worth pointing out. “What great arms you have Michelle...such tone!!!” And she needed 24 paid staffers just to show her face.

What a bunch a butt kissers.

There are tons of paid trolls at the site, making comment after comment about how great Obama was, how Trump hates “minorities”, and everything else under the sun in an attempt to distract from the complete bias and unprofessionalism of the mainstream media.

It probably takes 24 people when you’re trying to make a muscular man look like a woman.

NO, it's NOT "propaganda."

It's SEDITION: "plain and simple." Maybe, just maybe, FR/Freepers, could get the word out and get the ball rolling, like they used to years ago, instead of just all the nattering? Maybe we could all start using the word SEDITION - and get it spread -

I'm waiting for someone to finally start calling it what it is:

SEDITION noun 1. incitement of discontent or rebellion against a government. 2. any action, especially in speech or writing, promoting such discontent or rebellion. 3. Archaic. rebellious disorder.

Any other First Lady with a staff of 24 would have been mocked as a diva.

Not really equality, is it?

THOUSANDS published every day? There's a figure that needs fact checking . . .

Hewitt is could not be much more incorrect in claiming that the press is center-left. They are far left and getting further out there by the week.

If the media was even 25% as professional as they claim to be they wouldn't have this kind of problem.

The stupid Sullivan decision is part of this. Public figures should have no more, but no less protection from libel. The MSM doesn't even pretend to do due diligence anymore.

There are tons of paid trolls at the site,

You bet. Besides their parrot-like defense of obama or snipe at President Trump, all you have to do is click on their name and see the bridge they are hiding under: "DEAL WITH IT This user's activity is private".
