Civil rights and LGBT activists say they are concerned about President Donald Trump's nomination Thursday of Eric Dreiband to head the Justice Department's civil rights division because of his work defending major corporations and others against discrimination lawsuits. Dreiband, a labor attorney in Washington, D.C., who served as general counsel of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission under George W. Bush, has represented such companies as R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. in an age discrimination case, Bloomberg in a pregnancy discrimination lawsuit, CVS Pharmacy in an employee severance agreement lawsuit brought by the EEOC, and Abercrombie & Fitch in a Supreme Court case involving a Muslim woman who was not hired by the company because she wore a headscarf.
Eric Dreiband.
The nomination of Dreiband, an attorney with Jones Day whose partners included White House Counsel Donald McGahn, serves to undermine " fundamental civil rights priorities," the NAACP Legal Defense Fund said in a statement Thursday.
"Dreiband has devoted most of his career to defending corporations in employment discrimination cases and advocating for weaker antidiscrimination protections in the workplace," the statement said. "He also has a troubling lack of experience, having done no significant work in other issue areas central to the Division's mission, including urgent priorities like voting rights and policing reform."

You say that like it is a bad thing?

XY + XY = FAIL
XX + XY = Human

Mr. Dreiband needs to be defended to the hilt. Stop giving the Alinsky left permission to control the narrative!
All you wet-noodle Republicans can chime in any time you want.
Of course they do!!! These lunatic "activist groups" raise the alarms over Trump drawing breath!
He must think that White people have civil rights too.
Yep. Winning!
White people have civil rights, too........who knew?......
They should all go fornication themselves. I have had it with these damn whinning crybabies. Go to Iraq or Syria and fight for civil rights. We straightened things out here a long time ago and don’t need their carping racialist bull crap anymore!! PC idiots.
I know, right?
Who’d of thunk it?
Whites have civil rights too!
DJT is upsetting the right people.
Marginalized communities are marginalized for the simple reason, they are at best marginal
Shocker.
IMHO this reaction proves, again, without a doubt, achieve their objectives, both public and private, through the imposition of illegal orders imposed by unelected bureaucrats.
Why else make such a loud public stink over this appointment?
If he argued the conservative responses he is already familiar with potential counter arguments.
