Time to cut off the 7k Fed tax credit. Tesla and the rest have had a decade plus to make this technology cost effective. Time to stand on there own two feet. Let the States decide what they want to subsidized. Much more pressing matters for use of the money.

You can buy a high-end Benz for what a Tesla costs. You may not have the snob appeal with your rich liberal friends, but you can fill it up at any gas station.

My nicely designed and well equipped diesel...which sports a sticker price less than half of a Tesla....gets 53MPG on the highway and has a highway range of 700+ miles.When needed I can “recharge” it in about 4 minutes at any one of 40,000 “recharging” stations nationwide.

What % of Tax Payer $ Incentive / Price Reduction has it dropped ... Is it near or identical to the same amount?
Pretty sure when Govt Leaves so will the Sales of the Car...
it will be a low production specialty product for the Rich.

If I was wealthy enough to have more than one car, I’d be temped to get a Tesla. A customer at my work let me drive his, the acceleration is breathtaking. It’s like 1st gear torque all the way up. You can pretty much from 60 to 70 as fast as you can go from 0 to 10. They are a gorgeous piece of technology for sure. But as your one daily driver, I don’t think so. Not yet anyway. I don’t want to wait 4 hours for my car to charge if I want to drive more than 200 miles in a day.
