Such initiatives would never have been tolerated in the old Soviet Union of Stalin, Khrushchev, and Brezhnev. An ally was allowed options for military force well within what the Soviet Union could control politically. Allies were never given Soviet state of the art military weapons. The leaders I mentioned would never have allowed a nuclear power to develop on their border.

Ezekiel 38 AND 39 are going to be GOD’s show. Many nations are going to be gathered against Israel, and when they all arrive in the Valley of Megiddo (on their way to destroy Israel), GOD will be waiting.
On top of Mt. Carmel (which overlooks the Valley of Megiddo), there is a TV station (which Israel and America helped build), and they will be filming this event (24/7).
Anybody who remembers the scene in “Raiders of the Lost Ark”, certainly will recall what happened to those who showed up to see the Ark. The group was evil, and when they opened the Ark, God’s presence showed up and after the dust settled, all the evil people were destroyed along with their armament.
However, I believe - in this event in Ezekiel, God will leave bones and the enemy’s armament - TO PROVE GOD WAS THERE AND DESTROYED THE EVIL PEOPLE.
And, when the world sees this event on TV, they are going to run to any building with the word “church” on it, and want to know “Do you know THAT GOD”. We better be ready with the answer.
