Italy's interior minister on Sunday called on European countries to open their ports to migrant rescue ships as he met for crisis talks with his French and German counterparts.
Italy has threatened to close its ports to charity ships that rescue migrants in the Mediterranean if other EU states do not agree to take some of the growing number of refugees onto their shores.
"We are under enormous pressure," Marco Minniti said in Paris before the talks, which are taking place ahead of an EU summit in Tallinn this week.
Italian media reports said Rome was likely to call for a European code of conduct to be drawn up for the privately-run aid boats, with the Corriere della Sera saying vessels that did not comply could be "seized".
Over the past week alone, around 10,000 migrants have been ferried to Italy after being rescued from overcrowded, rickety boats travelling from Libya.

A house fire or a car crash are "tragedies." This is an Invasion. And asking other EU nations to "help" is simply opening up another gate to allow the invaders into Europe.
The Italians presented themselves as sheep and now they are scared of the wolves coming to prey on them.

I just watched the movie “Patriot’s Day” this weekend, and at the end of the movie they talk about how the survivors are overcoming the trauma of that day, which is good...they they veer off into “we all have to get along and live in peace” and then named four or five big terrorist attacks in various parts of Europe as example of how we have to come together and live in peace, and I nearly spit.
The bombing in Boston, and the big terrorist attacks they listed were examples of Islam, and how we may want to “live in peace” but they have no intention of doing so.
What has happened to Italy?Just because those third world animal survived a boat ride doesn’t mean that should be allowed into their country.
Put them on the next ship or plane and send them back.This invasion is not good for Italy or Western Europe.

Send the ships to South Africa and Saudi Arabia.
The solution is to dump those invaders in Libya, Afghanistan, Syria, and other countries that match their home culture. They will stop trying to come. Problem solved.
Perhaps they can wait until the whole of Africa empties out onto the European continent. Then the Chinese can begin the full colonization of Africa.
