Russia unveils its hi-tech motorised 'Star Wars' armour for soldiers complete with exoskeleton ...

It might resemble something out of Star Wars, but this is the prototype for a combat suit that Russia hopes will give its soldiers the edge on the battlefields of the future.

The high-tech item includes an exo-skeleton, or outer layer, designed to boost strength and stamina and a layer of body armour to shield the wearer from bullets.

The all-black kit also has a Stormtrooper-style helmet with a tinted glass visor and a mini task light poking out of the side.

It was put on display on Thursday at the National University of Science and Technology in Moscow.

A model standing more than six-feet tall wore the suit while cradling a fearsome-looking firearm in a pair of black padded gloves.

His arms were covered in fabric patterned with camouflage print and protected by armoured plates marked with the Russian flag.

On his legs were a pair of bulky shoes resembling ski boots, which were supported by a metal frame wrapped around the waist.

Oh if it’s like stormtrooper armor you just need an ewok with a stick to hit them on the head and they’re dead.

“bulky shoes resembling ski boots”

Those must be fun to trot in along the steppes.
Remember those ankle-high hiking boots from the ‘70s with Vibram soles like boards?

That neck protector design will decapitate the soldier during a primary blast wave.

“Gonna go through a lot of D cells”

Yes, and who is going to hump all the batteries?

Maybe they could drag a very long extension cord?

How about a solar parasol?

Would you believe, a mule pulling a generator on a cart?

US Army Future Soldier

Canada under Trudeau, is attempting, in an effort to save money to import more refugees, is looking to turn back the clock, using weapons and uniforms from WW2.

In a completely unrelated event, the Canadian War Museum has been closed, as all Csnadian military equipment and uniforms have somehow been removed.

Not only can the storm troopers not shoot, their armor is totally useless.

I wonder how ancient Greek armor would do with much of the leather and cloth composite replaced with modern materials.

Also the Corinthian helmet could probably protect very well if it were made of the right stuff.

Remember those Greeks soldiers could actually run in their armor.

Also bring back the shield. Probably would not protect against bullets but might be very effective against explosions and shrapnel.

“Sturdy Russian diesel generator.”

Yes, heavy duty, all-weather service.

And double the mules.

That said.It may not fit within the five-year plan.

They should just go ahead and use a full-on bare skin color and fishnet stocking pattern for the leg armor. Shooting them while they are laughing is a workable strategy.

The ‘exoskeleton’ looks a lot like the leg braces Forrest Gump kicked off in order to outrun the bullies chasing him in the truck.

I had a pair of Vasque boots in the 70's and went everywhere in them.

I have a pair of those, they were expensive as hell, and when my excellent pair of hiking boots finally died after three re-solings of the Vibram soles, I have to buy a new pair of boots, but the company had gone out of service.

I bought a pair that cost me nearly $300, and I have tried for about 20 years to break them in, but...they simply won’t break in!

Now, I am getting older, and I don’t backpack any more...what the hell am I going to do with those frigging boots? I still wear them, but boy, are they clodhoppers! (They ARE solid though...I could stand in those on the point of a saber for an entire day if I could balance, and my foot would never feel it!)
