Well, it depends on your household expenses and budget.
Does his wife works? How much is his mortgage in Utah? How many kids does he have? What’s the deal with saving for college for them, saving for retirement?
He’s got to be taking home 10 to 11 grand a month, after taxes. I would really like to know where he spends his money.
Then you have to know what he expects? Does he expect a luxury apartment and finds he can’t afford that? Does he expect to live alone as opposed to having roommates? Some congressmen have other congressmen as roommates.
Yes wash dc is expensive but I would want to know how he spends money to see why he can’t make ends meet.
I doubt he made that at all......Heck Kelly Anne and others working with the President are at $179,000 or there about so he’s not going to come close to that.
You cannot live in Washington without a handsome salary....even if your wife works. You aren’t going to be saving much living there....so it’s actually cheaper the way he was doing it...and a lot of them do just that.
You basically give up much of a “normal” life....I was close enough to those who run that track and it’s no picnic.

I lived there rent free, free food too.
We had room in our barracks for a few congressmen.
I’m afraid I have little use for any Utah politician: Hatch, Lee, McMuffin, and this whiner. He knew what he was getting into, and then he knew what he had gotten into. He should not have run for office in the last election.
I bet he is making that $170k salary which is not chickenfeed for doing part time work and smiling to the cameras with his stupid Cheshire grin, but expecting to live like he’s making $1.7mil
