AT&T is buying TWX on the strength of the Turner networks and HBO. They need content now that Comcast has it via owning NBC. CNN is only a part of the whole but a visible part, and maybe the leadership at AT&T (some of whom are Trump-friendly) are aware of the potential upside to not pissing off half or more of the potential audience. The opportunity is there to make CNN into what FNC was at it’s best, before the Murdock spawn were turned loose to wreck it.
AT&T already carries OANN. They should probably just scrap CNN for parts.
From your lips to God’s ears.
I don’t know about anti-trust approval, but CNN deserves to be restored to its initial reputation at being the best in onsite news— everything from Desert Storm to the OJ freeway chase.
CNN, in the beginning, put every one of us in the cat bird seat to view as-it-happens events, all over the world, 24 hours a day. See how far they have fallen under the increasing political weight.
Now, someone needs to jerk Morning Joe around the collar and escort Crazy Mika and Psycho Joe to the unemployment line and on to the nearest clinic for mental rehab. Unhinged TDS!
If the news zeitgeist flips and Fox becomes CNN and CNN becomes the old Fox it’s going to take a while for my brain to wrap around it.
Sort of like the conundrum of when the East Bloc and Soviet Union fell. It took a while to accept that.
