Although the future doesn’t bode well, I’ve heard that one can visit Germany and Scandinavia today and find it still very traditional, very lovely. The Muslim immigrants are largely confined to subsidized housing projects, away from the tourist parts of town. 95% of the people are still native European—so it really isn’t all that bad (yet.)

My mom and my aunt took my son, then aged about 12 to Sweden some years ago. The Swedes paid a return visit a year later while we lived in Minnesota.

We toured Mpls, the North Shore of Lake Superior, then down to Iowa where my Great Grandpa and grandma lived.

They explored my old coal mining town of Mystic, the local cemetery when Gus and Marie rest. It was a good visit.
