Smith College, a top-ranked liberal arts school for women, is teaching them that life comes with disappointment, rejection, stumbling blocks and its OK to experience such hurdles and learn from them.

My folks let me know about this at age 5 (and still doing it!)
This will really help those who take the class when the next great depression hits or WWIII...
How in the world could you arrive at college NOT knowing that life isn’t always a bowl of cherries? They just keep perpetuating this precious snowflake / buttercup behavior in spite of all the ridicule and scorn heaped on them.
Like when the “woman” they take home from the bar has an unexpected body part. Or the “man” is missing the part they wanted.
Jesus, really?
It's called LIFE, snowflakes.
Will this be a 3 credit course...or wil there be a lab involved (how to make a “pouty face”).
Their grandmothers could have told them that——and it would have been cheaper.
.
Especially those dumb enough to have gotten degrees in Women's Studies.
You need a “program” for that?
Not only your folks....WE learned to cope with failure and disappointment in ELEMENTARAY SCHOOL. Being on the losing team, not getting test mark we hoped for, not getting the report card mark we “thought” we deserved.....this was the first lessons in life.
Later, not making the team, getting a date for the dance or party, getting turned down by the pretty girl for Saturday night...we learned to cope with life day by day as life showed we little people what the world was like.
We didn’t get the college we wanted so went elsewhere and thrived. Some went off to war and never returned.
And the BOYS and GIRLS became MEN and WOMAN and together, built on those young learned lessons and helped build a better world.
Next a college course, charging full tuition, on how to walk and chew gum at the same time.
Until the 1970s, these very same “elite” women’s colleges used to tell young women that they had what it takes to compete and succeed and that the sky was the limit. And you know what? Their horizons were high and their abilities good and they did succeed.
All this disgusting brainwashing by the Marxists who think it up and drive it is intended to bring down the ability and achievement levels of all fields and all possibly still successful people by using every trick in the book to do in Judaeo-Christian Western countries by doing in “The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism.”
I told my Dad that I was disappointed that I wasn’t the first-string quarterback.
I’ll never forget the words of wisdom he gave me.
“Hold that light steady! How the heck am I supposed to see anything under this car with the light jerking around? What? Are you drunk?”
Sad to think a course like this is needed.
I think all.of us here have had many failures and disappointments in life. Many of us have learned from such events and applied the life lessons learned to our lives.
I’m still learning life lessons at age 60.
Children should learn life lessons. It’s a shame if too many just never learned about how to cope with ups and downs in life.
It’s crazy to think that life has changed so that kids have been coddled so much that they can’t function.
LOL - add to that the following life skills:
How to write a resume
How to get your lazy butt up and out the door
How to open a bank account
How to pay bills
etc
You cite some very good examples of the life experiences which we have all had, and which we should all have learned from.
Seems like too many of these kids today just never learned these lessons.
Colleges teaching what parents should have.
Erma Gawd....how pathetic
