Actually if you correct for the percentage of people by race who commit street crimes (those likely to involve confrontations with police as opposed to white collar/cybercrime) the fact of the matter is that police disproportionately kill white men, not black ones.

about 4.8 times as many whites as blacks.
Crime statistics are a completely different story.
When I was born, white people made up almost 90% of the citizenry.
I feel like something will be lost forever. That’s sad.

I know very well of what you speak! Not the restaurant, but the stench. And, I go into those sugar mills. Normally, I walk in standing at 5'10" and leave standing 6'4", from the molasses building up on your shoes and gathering any, and all, dirt on the floors and parking lots.
In the mid 80s, as part of my job I had to go into chicken slaughterhouses in the middle of the summer all over North Georgia.
Until you have walked around for couple of hours in full rain gear in one of those places under an unconditioned hot box of a metal building, you haven’t lived.

Funny, though how the human brain/senses can become desensitized. I brought an assistant one time who by the end of the tour had thrown up his previous week of food, and was moving into the dry heaves; I was by then unfazed.

When I was about 16 (many moons ago) my family went to Busch Gardens, Tampa, which included a trip through the Busch plant and all its aromas.
I had long since had my first beer, but my unknowing Southern Baptist mom, God love her, as we walked into a particularly aromatic room full of stainless steel open vats said - “Boys - this is what beer smells like”!
It was REALLY hard to keep a straight face ;)
In short, white people don't stand with criminals just because they have white skin.
If the black community STOPPED standing with their criminals they'd be better off - and fewer of their children would go into crime. (oh - and statistically a black persons chance of being shot by a cop goes waaaaay up if the cop is black)
When liberals tell us more 'whites' are on welfare than blacks they NEVER consider percent of population either. Most of us here understand that as a percentage of population more blacks are being shot.

As of 2010, the racial/ethic breakdown of welfare recipients is 31.8% white, 31.9% black, 30.0% Hispanic. So they only get that figure by counting Hispanics as white. There are slightly more blacks n welfare than (non-Hispanic) whites.
Meanwhile, blacks account for over 50% of homicide arrests and robbery arrests. This indicates that cops are trying really hard to avoid shooting blacks, for fear of causing a riot.
