That would not be consistent with how God sees things.
How many times does He forgive us?
How many times does He say to ask him (knock)?
How many times are we to forgive others?
How many times does the Hippocratic oath get applied until it says don’t save the life?
I would rather be consistent with what God has set up in us. The forgive always pays the price (us in this case), He never said it wouldn’t seem unfair or a pain but that is why ALL of us are more valuable than sparrows even if they are too addicted or high to know that.
Cincy, I agree with your comments 100%. However, Middletown is a depressed blue collar burg with a dwindling tax base.
Are the good people elected to run Middletown supposed to bankrupt the city exclusively for the purpose of saving heroin addicts? Where do they cut - services for the elderly? The fire department? Sanitation? Street maintenance? They don’t have enough money as it is. This situation is the result of some very tough decisions based on the reality of too little revenue and too many needs.
Abortion shot to HELL the Hippocratic oath of saving life .
This is not a matter of forgiving or failing to forgive.
Methinks you need to think this through a little more before cherry-picking Scripture.
That’s a bit simplistic.
It’s one thing to forgive others for their sins, it’s another thing to pay for their medical bills eternally or until they die, while they refuse to stop the sin of gluttony/drug/alcohol abuse.
I’ve heard that saving a persons life from a drug overdose regularly exceeds the cost of $500,000 per event. So when some street monster/brain dead zombie of a human does that 3-4 times in a couple years, the cost is so high that you can only sink the ship of all society to continue that kind of stupidity.
But yes, may God Bless the sinner, sin no more, stop trying to kill yourself please....
