Once people are “woke” to the real state of race relations, these types of attacks dwindle. Yankees have no misconceptions about the dangerous state of affairs, so we maintain a segregated society up here while labeling Southerners “racist”.

What? I see no such thing in the Philly-to-DC cities and suburbs. Maryland is very mixed, two counties deep outside the large cities. And since 2008, there has been a concerted effort to shoehorn Section 8's into all areas, including HOA and gated communities.
