Perhaps you’ve noticed that Trump’s also a tad busy; dealing with the “resistance” coming from all quarters. Expect things to change, once the whole “Russia” thing has been consigned to the wastebasket of history, where it belongs.

Trump has real issues with the RNC the way that Carter had issues with the Democrats of his time.
This is NOT an insult to Trump.
Carter was the last push back by the old Democrat party against the McGovernites who had swept into the party apparatus and made the whole thing progressively unhealthy. He could trust hardly a soul in the power structure of his party. He governed accordingly and was tireless ... but his failure came at the hands of his own party and a few glaring missteps of his own.
Had Carter, once out of office, kept his trap shut and gone on doing what he’d been doing (rather than try to be relevant again once he saw how Nixon was able to reform his reputation in the public presences of the horribly corrupt Clintons) his own reputation would have been on the mend by now among anyone but the looney left he might have resisted if only he’d had a bit better luck back in the day.
Trump too is a push back against the “what difference does it really make which?” Uniparty. Maybe not a last push back ... we need to manufacture him some better luck than Carter had.
Sadly, the complete insanification of the DNC isn’t the plus it could be given how there’s plenty of wannabe Jim Jeffords in the RNC to deal with.
