This is the kind of rhetoric that led up to the shooting spree at the Republican baseball practice, and I have no doubt there are more people out there who are unbalanced who will strike again because of liberal statements like “people will die”.

Exactly right. Sanders said it too, among others. And that's why I say we need to fight fire with fire. Say first of all 1. no one is going to die from this health care bill 2. people die all the time because of liberal immigration polices. Then show them the evidence. Let them figure out what to say to that.
