Heidi has plans to switch parties, as her state is swinging more Trumpward.

Hard to imagine, since Trump beat Hillary 51 counties to 2. He topped 80% in 15 of 53 counties and won the state overall 64-27. Hillary only got 4.4 times as many votes as Gary Johnson (93k to 21k... she got 15 times Gary Johnson's total nationally)

The two counties that Hillary took totaled less than 5000 votes between them... and one was the home of the DAPL Pipeline "protest" for most of the winter of 2016-17 (Sioux County, 1171 total votes).

Local radio and talk shows have not been very supportive of Heidi Heitkamp for the last several months.

Good news on the Alabama senate front. Some recent polls I read had that race much closer.

Harper (seems like a decent outfit) had Moore up only 2, that was worrisome.

Voter Consumer Research only 4.

Hopefully he wins comfortably.

Heidi Heitkamp has an 85% leftist rating from the ACU. If she switched to the Republicans, she’d be easily defeated in a primary. Same with Manchin in WV.

Regardless of the national vote, Reichert’s district is heavily Republican by Washington State standards and has never voted Democrat for Congress since its creation in 1982. Barring a disastrous nominee, it should remain Republican.

I support Laxalt for Governor in NV. Glad to see him following in his grandfather’s footsteps. He’s still alive in his 90s and will hopefully get to see him take office in 2019.

Gunzbooger just announced that Dent is retiring. He probably saw the writing on the wall that Trump was likely to come out for any challenger. Dent is an embarrassment to Pennsylvania.

What’shisname, Nighthorse Campbell, was pretty liberal.

There’d be big pressure on primary opponents to stand down if either of those turds switched. I think Morrisey would stay in the race in WV and win.

But Heidi! I bet could win in ND if the state party endorsed her. I doubt she actually contemplating switching though, WTF are you doing Mr. P.

Actually, Campbell had sort of a schizo voting record. Coming into the 1992 Senate race, he had registered a 45% and 38% Conservative rating in ‘91 and ‘92. Consider that was better than more that a few Republicans. I’m amazed he managed to win the Senate nomination, but he lucked out since he was nominated with 45% with the left splitting the vote between ex-Gov. Dick Lamm (36%) and 1990 nominee Josie Heath (18%). A runoff between him and Lamm would’ve been interesting, but Lamm might’ve prevailed in that.

His first year in the Senate was terrible, though, just 12% Conservative, but when some rules regarding his jewelry-making business hit him in the pocketbook, he dumped the Dems like a bad habit and went back to his more centrist House voting record and then towards the right. Judging him by his 1993 voting, you’d have never thought he’d switch, but the House votes gave some indication he was not going too fit well in an ever-increasingly leftist Democrat Senate caucus. In 1981-82, maybe, since they had still had some at or above 50% Conservative, but even those guys were moving leftward. Too strong a pull.

Heitkamp’s record has been consistently bad, so there’s nothing Campbellesque about her. Anything going on now is her trying to gain some points with ND Republicans to say she can work with the President and earn his praise. She’s got to keep enough support to earn her a 2nd term by the skin of her teeth.

Dave Trott is retiring after only 2 terms.

I hope Kerry BenoviPaulbotolio doesn’t run.

Bentivolio scored the highest ACU rating from the MI delegation in 2014, 96% Conservative. Trott, by comparison, has scored a paltry 75% (2015) and 79% (2016). Bentivolio’s return would be a decided improvement (Amash, on the other hand... getting rid of him ought to be a priority).

I don’t care what his rating from that group was, he pulled a McMuffin in 2016, saying :

“I’m not a Republican anymore,” “My No. 1 thing is to spread the message about being transparent, being accountable for your actions.”

He declared bankruptcy in 2015 so LOL to that last part.

He also said “ I very much want a libertarian to upset the apple cart in the electorial [sic] college as well as here in the 11th Michigan.” “I think I can bring in never Hillary and never Trump voters. With a proven record of Real conservatism.”

There are viable democrats running. Running a deadbeat Paultard weirdo, who was Never Trump till after the election, and who can’t spell “electoral”, would be foolish.

Ah, but he has a "100% liberty" score. I guess voting with Islamofacists gets you rated "pro-liberty"

I didn’t know that Kerry the Reindeer-Raising Paulistinian spelled “electoral” the same way that Philly RAT Congressman Bob Brady pronounces the word. And here I thought that I’d oppose him merely because he’s a loony Paulbot with very little chance of winning the general election (this time the RATs won’t nominate a nobody with a Muslim name).
