If Russia tried to mess with our election, so what? They didn’t change any votes. So they obviously failed.

Simple really. Obama thought the Russioans were interfering FOR Hillery at first.Hillery had dirt on herself in dealing with Russia, so did Obama ( open mike comments), and so Obama kept silent knowing it would not go well for either of them.
The DNC would not allow the FBI or DHS access to their hacked server to investigate the hacking alleged, because of the dirt on it, evidence of crimes committed by the DNC and others.
Now after the fact “ The Russians did it?”

Obama held a press conference on about October 14 to emphasize that our election system could not be hacked, no serious person would raise the issue, and Trump should stop whining about it

Responding to election interference would have interfered with his golf game and scheduling of speaking events post presidency. But he always had our best interests at heart...
If the CIA and Obama knew about this massive Russian plot in August, wouldn’t it make sense for his administration to warn the Presidential campaigns, formally and otherwise? If any were warned, advised or consulted, were ALL given the same information?
Investigating Committees need to ask those question and demand documents showing what was communicated.
