Given radical Islamic terrorist attacks and people's concern about safety, Florida's Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd advised that people who are not afraid of a gun should get one, "and if you need to shoot somebody, shoot them a lot."
He also advised gun owners to "get a concealed firearms license and carry it."
Sheriff Grady made his remarks to ABC Action News (WFTS) this week.
“If you’re not afraid of a gun, get one," said the sheriff. "Become proficient. Get a concealed firearms license and carry it."

Too often folks assume all of Florida is like Boca Raton or Broward county.
Of course they don’t work — You’re forgetting about the poignant Twitter hashtags. They’re critical to the process.
So about 4 years ago this illegal from Jamaica executes a deputy in Polk Co. So sheriff Grady does a manhunt and his deputies finds the perp and a gun battle ensues.
At the press briefing the press says the Jamaican had 62 bullets in him, and why was he shot 62 times.
Without missing a beat Grady says, “well, my deputies ran out of ammunition.”
No further questions were asked.

Back in the 1950’s my father’s IGA store was being burglarized at night. Dad and one of the workers stayed late in order to catch them in the act. My dad informed the police of his presence at the store. One of the officers told my father that if he shot a perp while they were on the fence, to pull the guy back over on the store’s property before he called them.
My father was never successful in catching them. However, neighbors informed Dad that the burglars lived next door and were aware of the nights when the trap was laid.
I love Grady Judd!
