Don’t forget the Alawite ideology of nepotism.
They are 10% of the population, but rule everything. That doesn’t seem a good long term solution to me as all these high birth rate countries have anyway the problem of young men frustrated with having little chance for the future and now you add to that the 90% are out of the game right after they’re born with their best hope being working hard to get some scraps from some Alawite’s table.
Yes, I knew the rules were rigged. But no one had told me it was pure nepotism. I knew it was father to son despots. But did not know that all the top jobs were too.
Kurds are really good people. I know some of them very well. Have learned a lot about them over the past 3+ years.
