One can even serve in a foreign military and hold top US security clearance.

Foreign nationals w/ legal immigration status can enlist in the US military ( if otherwise admin qualified), but officers must be US citizens.

I’m a dual citizen but in order to keep my clearance they required me to turn in my passport and denounce allegiance to my country of birth
