Congress is considering new legislation that would permit lawmakers to carry a concealed firearm wherever they perform official duties across the United States, according to a copy of the new bill that marks an unprecedented effort to help lawmakers confront a growing threat to their safety.

I’d imagine the background checks are going to be very, very problematical. Though I would support extreme psychological vetting.

No special “perks” for government officials. None. Either we all have rights or we don’t. People in government should never be more equal than the people. The warpped thinking that Congresscritters should have special rights is one of the main swapcritter problems.

I'm not at all certain that I have a problem with this.But perhaps while they're at it perhaps they can attach a clause stating that ordinary citizens....law abiding ones,of course...can do likewise.

I’m all for term limits. One term, they live in a dorm, same pay rate as a pfc. And when its over, banned from any type of lobbyist and never set foot in Washington again.

I’m sick and tired seeing these a s s wipes entering with a net worth of $600,000 leaving 15-20 years later worth over $25 million. How does this happen?-—did you exempt yourself from laws we have to abide by?
