It’s amazing how NOBODY wants autopsies of their kin who die under the MOST CIRCUMSPECT situations.
My pop died from a brain aneurysm and the blood was there to prove it. He had had 2 heart attacks, a stroke and an aneurysm before the fatal one.
And my mother STILL got an autopsy done.
But here???? Nah!!!!! Why bother? He probably died of old age.
If the Warmbier’s are Jewish (as Otto’s wikipedia page may suggest) then it’s very understandable why they don’t want an autopsy performed.
And regardless, they don’t need to know a coroner to tell them what is already known—The North Koreans put him on death row.
Just read about other Americans who survived North Korea like Charles Robert Jenkins to know what they do to their prisoners. Perhaps Otto couldn’t do recite the North Korean national anthem by heart in Korean and was simply pummeled into a coma as a punishment. We’ll most likely never now.
I’ll respect his parents wish here.
One might recall that Mary Jo Kopechne's parents refused to allow an aotopsy. Had one been performed, the history of the subsequent four decades might have been significantly altered.
Unless you have lost a child, you just don’t understand. My daughter and only child died in her sleep, so they had to do an autopsy to determine cause of death. She was a healthy 29 year old who had a baby 18 months before with no complications. It took them six months to finally come to the conclusion that she died of cardiac arrhythmia. In my mind, I know it was necessary, but I still have nightmares knowing they dissected my daughter’s body. Grief killed my husband. My grief will last until I die.
