Spicer taking on new White House role

Press Secretary Sean Spicer will soon be taking on a new role at the White House, overseeing the entire communications operation including the press office while giving up some of his day-to-day duties at the podium, Fox News has learned.

While Spicer's new title is still being decided, his new role will be considered a promotion to a position at the level of deputy chief of staff.

Unclear is who will take over the regular duties as press secretary -- though President Trump is fond of Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ performance to date -- or who will become communications director.

“We have sought input from many people as we look to expand our communications operation. As he did in the beginning, Sean Spicer is managing both the communications and press office,” the White House said in a statement.

I hear that Sarah Huck Sanders doesn’t particularly want the job.

I do not blame her.

For the life of me I don’t see why the White House doesn’t yank the credentials of the legacy media for the daily pressers. They’re not interested in the truth at all and they’re going to write whatever they want anyways.

I agree - get a Fox hottie. Laura Ingram gets my vote

I think this is the hardest job in the world. Sean did a fine job at first, but he is too antagonistic. Sarah is the total opposite of Sean and therefore does well. I think better than Sean.

Personally speaking... my guess is that Sarah did not get the job offer, but was free to apply for it, if she wished.

That’s the usual, graceful way of rejection.

I agree with you. Laura Ingraham would be perfect.

I agree with you. The White House would benefit if they would call in department heads, or whoever is in charge of a particular issue they are working with the White House, perhaps once a week is plenty for a press briefing.

Neither Sean nor Sarah have the gravitas, confidence nor the political depth to manage a renegade media school of piranhas.

The department heads did a fine job, far more professional, because they knew far more about the subject at hand than the leftist reporters. It was fact based and action based, less politicaly snarky.

Sean and Sarah could not match the media gaggle on political chops. It was truly awful.

As much as I enjoy the threads that ridicule these pompous, self-important, arrogant a-hole reporters, I say the WH should end this daily song and dance and communicate with the American people through twitter and official WH press releases. F the MSM and their minions whose sole purpose is to take this President down! They are enemies of this country! It is high time DJT started really playing hard ball with them!!

I cannot argue against logic like that! However Bill O’Reilly is out of a job, and half the press corps wouldn’t even bother to show up!

Also - he IS a boob.

I read the other week that Bill O’Reilly regrets that he didn’t fight back like Hannity did. He was after all #1
