Trump needs to respond with his own leaked video.
Whether this was light hearted fun, or something more sinister, the fact is, Trump is on everyone's mind. He's living there rent free.
Europeans want to look strong, they trash Trump.
Terrorits want to look strong, they trash Trump.
Turnbull wants more gravitas, he lampoons who? Trump!
We have a leader folks. It's about time.
Did anyone ever dump on Obama? We know what an ass hat he was, but generally speaking, he was ignored. Either that or there was so much praise heaped on him, that it was essentially a comical moment.
Honestly, to me it seemed much more that Turnbull was mocking himself. His whole skit was about how badly he was doing in the polls.
There is a tradition at this function of both self-deprecation and comments directed at other world leaders. It’s a roast. The difference is this year it was leaked against the normal conventions that what is said at this function is not publicised by the journalists in attendance. Yes, I think it was a dumb move on Turnbull’s part, especially the ‘Russian’ comment but the context does matter.
And next years function is now likely to be incredibly boring if politicians can’t rely on the lobby following the conventions.
I’m also not a fan of Turnbull in any sense - but Obama chose to conceal a deal made months earlier until after your elections. It wasn’t really that ‘eleventh hour’.
Trump’s people laughed it off. I’d use opportunity to tell him to take his own refugees in.
Turnbull is a disgrace and the Aussies know it.
Trump’s stature goes up immeasurably, by simply ignoring it.
Make a fun small quip about it some at some point and laugh it off.
He’ll look very statesmanlike if he does.
Addressing it, he’ll look petty.
Steal this guy’s thunder by acting like it doesn’t matter to you. Then act as if you thought it was funny too.

What I don’t get is all these establishment pols, the world over, who mock, deride and insult President Trump, of all people.
Look at the shape of the world that was handed to him by these pieces of s-—.
Turnbull blows kangaroos and wombats.
Trump has dashed famous people’s career dreams with a single well-timed quip.
Not the kind of guy I’d want to be making fun of in public.
Comments indicate the headline is fake-news BS anyway.
You are probably right. A small quip in a dismissive way but only after enough time has passed would be the strongest response.
I am also curious if this guy had been putting himself down just prior to these remarks, and if in essence he was actually putting himself down here by claiming a very high level of positive nature here, which others would not agree with.
This may be a whole lot more innocent than we think at this point.

I agree completely with your post. The satire was really about Turnbull tanking in the polls. I think poorly of the leakers.
