May very well be that the workers are needed in the ag industry...since California is absolutely dependent on Mexicans.

that becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy, bring in a lot of illegals, then say we’re dependent on them,can’t remove them.

Exceptions can be make for farm labor... but when the crops are picked they GO HOME. AND never made citizens ...

The Ag industry can exist without cheap foreign labor. Advanced robotic fruit and produce picking machines are now available and there is no real need for them. The cost of growing produce is a small pet of the retail supermarket price. This a no/brainier.
