Trump Attorney on WaPo Report: ‘The Leak of This Information Is a Crime’

“This Russian investigation has gone nowhere, so they’re coming up with new charges,” said Jay Sekulow, one of President Trump’s attorneys.

Sekulow, chief counsel for the American Center for Law and Justice, was reacting to a report in Thursday’s Washington Post that says Special Counsel Robert Mueller is investigating President Trump “for possible obstruction of justice.”

The report, based on five anonymous sources, describes the latest (alleged) development in the investigation as a “major turning point.”

The newspaper said investigators also are looking for evidence of possible financial crimes among Trump associates.

“If this is true that five individuals inside of the United States government, whether it was the FBI or the Special Counsel’s office -- wherever it came from -- leaked information about the president of the United States to the Washington Post, information about a supposed investigation, that is a crime,” Sekulow told Fox News’s Sean Hannity Wednesday night.

I am most gratified that Jay is one of the attorneys advising Trump.

Yes, why is Jay Sekulow the only one speaking out for Trump? Everybody else’s balz are in a lockbox with dirty money, or fear.
Bless him and keep him safe.

Time for Trump to appoint another dozen (or so) Special Councillors. (Some other Freeper suggested as much recently.) Investigate everyone and everything. Let the Russia thing continue; so that there can be no suggestion of obstruction of justice. Just bring a whole lot more justice into the picture. It’s my understanding that Trump would not need any sort of Congressional approval or consultation for these appointments.

According to Jerome Corsi, either the DEEP STATE will be successful in impeaching Trump on fake charges or attempt an assassination. President Trump needs to announce that he is fighting back by:

1) Announcing the appointment of a special counsel to investigate Loretta Lynch’s Obstruction of Justice concerning the Clinton email scandal
2) Opening all government files and appointing a special investigator to investigate the JFK assassination....

Even a Tweet from Trump will regain the media focus for an extended period of time....(some real ACTION would be better)

also are looking for evidence of possible financial crimes

Same playbook as the last special counsel: just find something, anything to prosecute (he jaywalked last year!) and hit them with that.

Anything to damage the President. Just anything.

It’s not illegal to create fictional stories in a failing media outlet. Economic fraud maybe.

Trump should send an official notice to Mueller that if he doesn't provide the names of the leakers in 24 hours, THEY ARE ALL FIRED IMMEDIATELY.

I'm sick of this sh*t. Between the baseball false flag and this ongoing 'Russia investigation' now becoming a 'financial investigation', I'm beginning to think America is being PUSHED INTO A CIVIL WAR BY EVERYONE IN DC INCLUDING TRUMP. What has Trump done to stop this? What has Sessions done to stop this? WHY IS THIS NONSENSE BEING ALLOWED TO CONTINUE?

Trump should make a speech in primetime from the Oval Office, to read the applicable section from the Constitution that authorizes him to FIRE Mueller, Rosenstein, and all their little Deep State minions and JUST DO IT. But..

PERHAPS THEY'D ALL RATHER HAVE AN ARMED MARCH ON THE CAPITOL, WITH LITTLE CIVIL WARS MIXED IN?

Actually a fabulous idea. Muck up the whole process with many real investigations into real crimes.

18 U.S. Code 1905 - Disclosure of confidential information generally

... shall be fined under this title, or imprisoned not more than one year, or both; and shall be removed from office or employment.

Separate laws cover the disclosure of classified information.

General point being, "classified" is not a prerequsite for a leak to be a crime.
