Here’s the latest report card on California’s battle against climate change
Los Angeles Times ^ | June 14, 2017 | By Joe Fox and Chris Megerian

New data released by state regulators provide a detailed snapshot of California’s battle against global warming. We’ve crunched the numbers on specific sources of pollution, including planes, cars and trucks, and how the state’s pollution compares to the size of its economy.

The state has been chipping away at greenhouse gas emissions in recent years. However, it’s going to need much deeper cuts to reach its goals.

Emissions have been reduced by approximately 1% each year since 2006, when California enacted its landmark law setting a target for cutting pollution that causes climate change. But to reach a newer, more ambitious goal for 2030, cuts will need to happen at about three times that pace.

Transportation remains the single largest source, and the transition from gasoline engines to electric cars has been happening more slowly than regulators want. Emissions from passenger vehicles alone jumped 4.4% in 2015 as more Californians hit the road, fueled by the economic recovery and the relatively low price of gasoline.

More progress has been made on electricity generation. Overall emissions from power plants fell 5.2% in 2015, reaching a level 30.4% lower than it was in 2008. There’s less coal power and more renewable energy being imported into the state.

The radical left that runs California now is very reminiscent of German history in the early 1930s. The media is HARD left. I remember when the state was a shining example of the REAL America...that was 40 years ago.

The state is toast and still headed down.

California could outlaw all industry...

OTOH, we could all add a special tax to movie tickets for a special fund for violence victims that would only apply to the first two weeks of a showing (theaters don't get any of that money).

They need to tear down some of these houses, and live in tents.

And after taxing the crazy Californians who prize weather over liberty, even if California hits its goals, IT WILL MEAN NOTHING IN PLANETARY SCALE OF THINGS.

They could DISAPPEAR COMPLETELY. Set emissions to ZERO and it would mean NOTHING to AGW, even if it existed.

My plan could attain those goals in 1 Year!!!

P.E.A.C.E
the Public Employee Anti Congestion Environmental Act.

All persons classified as a Public Employee, shall be required to exclusively use Public Transportation to and from their respective workplaces from their homes. Any US Citizen or Legal Resident that can demonstrate a “reasonable suspicion” that a Public Employee has violated this mandate, shall be entitled to damages equal to, but not less than the maximum monetary award in Civil Small claims court.

Failure of any public employee to pay damages forthwith shall be a Felony, punishable by not less than 5 years in State Prison.

Problem Solved

Of course, California doesn’t include all the heat generated by all those solar farms and wind farms - which would pretty much wipe out that 1%

BULLSHIT!

More Californians hit the road alright...

AB60 is the California Assembly bill giving drivers licenses to illegals

513,000 AB 60 driver licenses issued from January 2, 2015 to September 30, 2015.

That is 516,000 ab60 licenses issued in only the first 9 months of 2015.

That couldn't have anything to do with their increased emissions could it?

I’m wondering when the left will start an epic battle against the disastrous man-made catastrophic sea level change that takes place about three times a day?

If California really believed their global warming voodoo science they would ban all cars and shut down all their power plants, ending electricity usage in the state.

“That couldn’t have anything to do with their increased emissions could it? “

No, because those 513,000 illegal aliens were already driving. All the Brown & Co. did was make them “legal” behind the wheel.
