A close friend of President Trump said on Monday that the President is considering firing Robert Mueller, the special counsel who is leading the federal investigation into alleged ties between the Trump campaign and Russia.

Chris Ruddy, CEO of Newsmax Media and a longtime Trump friend, told PBS's Judy Woodruff that Trump is weighing whether to fire Mueller.

"I think he's considering perhaps terminating the special counsel. I think he's weighing that option," Ruddy said on PBS NewsHour.

This is just another effort by the left to discredit Trump. Time has been a left hit group by the libs for at least 50 years.

The current special counsel regulations specify that the Special Counsel may be disciplined or removed from office only by the personal action of the Attorney General. The Attorney General may remove a Special Counsel for misconduct, dereliction of duty, incapacity, conflict of interest, or for other good cause, including violation of Departmental policies. These rules have been in effect since 1999.

So Trump can’t just fire a special counsel and there are strict rules in how and why that take him completely out of the process. This is the usual Time classlessness.

The Deep State is baiting Trump to fire Mueller. The “Cold Coup” is getting hotter.

Have Trump Atty demand Mueller step aside due to his tight Comey relationship, Comey leaked to get this started. Mueller cannot be objective.

Then demand what crime is being investigated and ask for all evidence of collusion by these two Congressional cmte put up or shut up.

Trump should have one if those campaign speach style events in a stadium if 50,000 and call them all out.

Demand evidence, or close down and get to work on the “people” business. Mention that the forgotten man wants a job, lower taxes, affordable health insurance, a decent school for their kids, safe streets and a road not full of pot holes. Then call it Washington elites for living in out of touch la-la land and that Dems are just obstructionists that do not represent anyone. Because they favor illegal immigrants over citizens, they are therefore anti-American and should disband

Then ask for all of these forgotten men to come to Washington for a ten million man march chant “we are mad as hell and not going to take it anymore”

Yes, there’s several crimes with Comey.

1) Failure to note the meddling by Loretta Lynch

2) Interfering in the HC case (proving it is another matter) but it wasn’t his call to determine if someone would go after her (not a Democrat, of course).

3) Destruction of evidence

4) Leaking gov’t information to a civilian AND the press

5) And what are the ties to The Clinton Foundation and Comey? There are some questions right there.

If Trump fires Mueller, the only consequences would be political.

Trump is restoring our nation to what it has always been—a nation of laws. Political retaliation, like political correctness, has no effect on Trump.

That HEU was a small (10 gram) sample taken from some country’s enrichment program. The US shared a fraction of that sample with Russia for their own forensic analysis. Mueller gets a pass on this one. Nothing political about it, other than anti-proliferation policing.

Replace him with nobody. The whole Russia thing is a hoax to distract President Trump from dealing with Obama and Clinton crimes.

“The D.C. establishment is baiting Trump to do this, and it’s the absolute worst thing he could do.”

You mean Trump should go along to get along? If Mueller had a desire to be objective and impartial, it would be a mistake. But does anyone actually believe that about him? The democrats are offering Trump two choices — fire Mueller and catch hell with the Establishment, or hands off and catch hell with the Establishment.

Anyone see IDIOT Marc Thiessen on FOX News saying it was a horrible idea for TRUMP to remove Mueller?

Replace Mueller with a neutral party.

No such thing as neutral party. The president controls the executive branch. And Congress can impeach the president if they want to.

Seeing as how the Democrats and the lamestream media throw a nuclear hissy fit no matter what President Trump says or does, it should give him a certain amount of freedom to do whatever he wants.

I don't see what the problem would be? TRUMP would say Mueller is too close to Comey so they'll replace him with someone more non partisan!! What's the big deal?

-- So Trump can't just fire a special counsel and there are strict rules in how and why that take him completely out of the process. --

Technically he can - just order the AG (or Deputy, since the AG recused) to do it. Any fallout is political.

I get a kick out of the articles that spin up "not off the table" to "might fire." The "not off the table" remark by Sekulow was one of those theoretical remarks, Mueller might do something really bizarre, so Trump can't take firing off the table.

I think Team Trump has serious dirt on Mueller. Dirt is the currency of the DC realm.

Offer Mueller the chance to step down / end the inquiry or else Sessions will appoint an oversight counsel to make sure everything is on the up and up and investigate the Special Counsel and his staff. If there really is dirt then he’ll just agree there’s no need for the investigation to continue.

from another thread:

Special Prosecutor to go after Comey and his friend.

Special Prosecutor to go after Loretta Lynch manipulating an FBI investigation.

Special Prosecutor to go after Bill Clinton for The Clinton Foundation, and interference in an FBI investigation.

Special Prosecutor to go after Hillary Clinton for The Clinton Foundation, the felonious email server and a cover-up of Benghazi.

Special Prosecutor to go after Susan Rice for Benghazi and spying on Americans.

Special Prosecutor to go after Barack Hussein Obama for spying on Americans.

Special Prosecutor to go after Barack Hussein Obama and Eric Holder for Fast and Furious.

Special Prosecutor to look into the Seth Rich murder. Wayne Allen Root says the U.S. Attorney in that area is Debbie Wasserman-Schultz’s >>>>>>brother<<<<<<<.

OK, those are the 8 Special Prosecutors to go after the Democrat insurgents off the top of my head.

Having dirt on Mueller prevents Mueller from perpetuating Comey's mythological Russian connection.

Now Mueller is the one between a rock and a hard place. If he gives Trump a clean bill, the press will pillory Mueller - aftetr setting up the notion that Mueller is out to get Trump.
