Honestly, I hesitated with my recent contribution because it’s clear FR is struggling to reach its targeted funding. I don’t want to give money to a venture that may not survive.
I appreciate that FR has no advertising, but I’d rather see ads than see Free Republic go away.
$5 per vanity seems reasonable to me but I don’t see how to enforce it. I like the idea of having a premium member designation where those who contribute can post, but freeloaders can’t.

I see this as solving the financial needs of FR as well as cutting down on all the garbage posts here.

Yes, you’re right about the $5.00 per Vanity, which is why I used the word “ask.” We’d just have to make it known that Vanities post with understanding that $5 goes into the FR donation pot.
