Attorney General Jeff Sessions is set to testify in front of the Senate Intelligence Committee this week in response to James Comey’s testimony this last week.
Sessions was originally going to testify before the House and Senate Appropriations subcommittees this week but released a statement (which you can read below) that says he will send a deputy to that hearing after finding out that lawmakers would be grilling him regarding the investigation of alleged ties between the Trump administration and Russia.
Sessions commented:
In light of reports regarding Mr. Comey’s recent testimony before the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, it is important that I have an opportunity to address these matters in the appropriate forum . . .
Sessions will appear in front of the committee on June 13, 2017.

Hopefully while there AG Sessions will announce that James Comey and Loretta Lynch are being perp walked as they meet.

What will he have to say?
Probably related to Comey's statement that he begged Sessions not to leave him alone with Trump anymore.
Or to refute Comey’s claims that Trump’s reasons for firing him (ie the memo from the Asst AG, endorsed by the AG that Comey be fired) were lies.
i saw elsewhere that the DoJ / FBI could not find the actual Comey memos on official servers.

Trump should have left Sessions in the Senate.
Comey also testified that he wasn’t advised that Sessions was recusing himself or what the process would be. He said he learned about it from the news.
The DOJ has countered this with reference to the detailed email distributed with this information, including to Comey.
I call him the mouse that roars.
As long as Trump and his boys keep this crap boiling on the front burner, none of our agenda will be passed.
Of course McConnell and Ryan would like nothing better.
And media ratings and coffers will remain fat.
If you’d read the article, you would have found out that the only hearing he is going to attend is the one to respond to Comey’s testimony. He’s sending his Deputy AG to the Appropriations Hearing because he heard that some, meaning Dems were planning on asking him questions about the Russian probe, from which he has recused himself.
Sessions recused himself from Trump-Russia investigation with Mueller.
Sessions testimony regaring ‘Comey testimony’ will be about what laws may have been broken, and what should be done about it, as he is AG.
Not sure how that will go, but hopefully there will be charges for Comey and Lynch, maybe others.

At the time he recused himself, it seems there was some speculation that he would be a witness at some point and needed to recuse for that reason.
