As stunned Conservatives struggled to explain their election losses in the United Kingdom on Friday morning, one factor emerged as decisive: namely, the high turnout of young voters.
The BBC reported anecdotal evidence — not yet backed by formal proof, though widely believed — that a surge in young voters propelled Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn and his party to historic gains, while holding Prime Minister Theresa May’s party below a majority.
What could have propelled young people to support an aging white male politician, whose political views are a throwback to the stodgy, pre-Tony Blair days of the British left?

“Did Ariana Grande Swing the UK Election”?
Nahhh
Theresa May did. (Children do not vote, unless they are adult ComDems).
Her base wanted action like rounding up all the Returned Isis fighters and Crazy Imans but she did nothing ..
The pubs being hit changed the urge to keep her in .
They stayed home making the young voters more important .
The left wing media hold off reporting those facts .

Left Wing Media? Facts? What are Facts?
Headshake
Maybe the UK conservatives are tired of supporting wussies. Imagine how we’d feel if the only candidates to vote for were McCain, Graham, McConnell, Ryan, et al. Why bother?
I would stay my ass home.
exactly .
the voters ignore those murderous muslim all invaders from Libya or Syria or whatever
muslim hell hole and voted for more of it .
I think not .
The English are not stupid.
But the current leadership is stupid or bought. Corruption of foreign interests. Product to the fake dream of a Globalist World. (all cultures are the same? NOT)
Churchill said it, and it was 20/40 not 16/60
Expecting the Labour party, and Jeremy Corbyn in particular, to do ANYTHING about terrorism is to wish and hope for the Tooth Fairy to show up.
Sheer figment of the imagination.
The Muslim mayor of London is a member of the Labor Party. Go figure.
On that we both agree.

It may be that British youths are as indoctrinated as American youths are into Socialism. It is soooo compassionate and everybody should have the same outcome, right? Trying to convince some of my peers that they really are not voting for compassion, is like trying to convince a brick wall of anything. I had a conversation with an attorney friend and told her, ‘equal opportunity does not guarantee equal outcome. Some people will always work harder for what they want. And Socialism punishes those who are willing to work harder, by taking from them and giving to those who choose to not work as hard. Why is that a good idea?’.......not surprisingly, I didn’t change her mind. Libs know EVERYTHING, don’t they? And they are NEVER WRONG about anything, are they?
They’ll probably have another Election soon after May’s government gets hit with a no confidence vote
The Torie’s inaction on Islamic terror is what caused their huge losses. People stayed home instead of going out to vote. People in the UK probably don’t see much difference between their two major parties, just like us.
I have a liberal friend I try to talk to about these things too. Whenever I make a point she can’t combat, her eyes just glaze over for a minute, and then she brings up something different.
I wish it were that easy. My husband pointed out that the Tories received more total votes this time than last time. But the enthusiasm of the Labour voters was nearly overwhelming. They were energized and showed up. Prayers for Britain. It is going through a very tough time right now.
There are two big issues here.
One is that Theresa May was in charge of the governments’s border security when the Manchester bomber was allowed to travel back and forth to Libya to fight as jihadist. That was not some mistake, it was a deliberate policy of the Cameron government to use terrorist types in the UK as a tool against Ghaddafy. No matter how bad Labour is, there is a good chance that an old school leftist like Corbyn would not have done that because people like him generally don’t support “regime change” in the third world. Voters want to punish May for her neocon-like foreign policy actions that lead to the Manchester bomber going to Libya where he almost certainly learned to make his bomb in an al-Qaeda training camp.
The second issue is that May proposed a new tax on elderly people to pay for their medical care that is tremendously unpopular. A similar new tax on the common people is what did Thatcher in.
I would not be surprised if following this result they’ll try to finagle another Brexit vote.
Theresa May swung it because of her terrible handling of the bombing.
