After London Attack, British Gun Activists Call For Right To Bear Arms

The fringe movement is revving up its call for looser gun laws in response to the recent string of terror attacks on British soil.

British activists are advocating for looser gun laws in response to the Saturday night ISIS terror attack that killed eight people and wounded nearly fifty others in central London.

“These tragedies may have been the eye opener to just how ineffective our laws are,” Dave Ewing, a representative from the gun ownership advocacy group, Firearms-UK, told Vocativ.

Firearms-UK, along with other advocacy groups like Arm UK Citizens, Legalise Guns in the UK, and England Wants Its Guns Back, have flocked to social media to slam the British government for maintaining harsh restrictions on gun ownership in response to the attack at London Bridge, which was the third terror attack on British soil in as many months.

I suppose the intrepid reporters meant to say the "the alt-right radical extremist" fringe movement. Good luck on getting any traction with this one. Even with brexit.

It was heart breaking to see the TouTube videos when the Brits and Aussies were forced to turn in their firearms. Even famiily heirlooms were mangled...

The Czech president said he was now in favor of arming the population and said he was convinced that if any of the revellers at the Bataclan music venue in Paris had been carrying a gun in their pocket when it was attacked by Islamist killers, there would have been fewer casualties.

These activists have older British legal tradition on their side. The 1689 Bill of Rights included the right to bear arms and until 1920 guns were widely available in Britain. Today’s British elite, however, seems more tuned into globalism than traditional British liberties (historically the roots of American liberties). However, these groups should keep up their activism, with all the terrorism going on, they may win more listeners.

About a year ago in France, there was a discussion about the idea of “deputizing” former French military people as some militia. The French laws allow for local governments to have a militia for limited use. The idea was that they’d bring people in...limited training, and then allow them a permit to carry weapons in public. At some point, it was pushed to the side...no one wanted to onto the next step.

Thanks for the Ping,KC.
Hmmm...Make mine a 1911.
With a side order of Front hand grip, Double capacity clips and one of those self targeting ‘Lazer’ sights.

Don’t hold yer breath on this, I’m not.

As the islamic war continues on the West, especially GB, watch and see if the “unwashed masses” don’t come to an outright uprising towards the lib overseers.
Even a mouse has the sense to fight back when cornered, and that’s exactly where the “unwashed masses” in GB sit today: unarmed by their overseers and cornered. This is going to be interesting to watch as it plays out.

They complied of their own free will. I have no sympathy for them. Their stupidity serves as an example to others.

I agree. I just can’t believe people like that are stupid enough to allow it.

Of course I live in California, so I’m one to talk.

Mine is CO2 powered.
More of an area denial weapon than an accurate Airgun.
Have loved the 1911 since is was 14 and used one at the range. Sigh.
:)

Actually, I doubt any current British resident complied of their own free will; they were sold out by the previous generations over a Red scare.

This sums up why our second amendment is probably our most important amendment!

A few days ago, the mayor of London said that global warming was the biggest threat..

After the terror attacks this weekend: “London’s Mayor sticks with “safest global city in the world” line

Years ago, Churchill said:

Now after 7 decades of Brit PC bs and disarming the good Brits, this is their new rule!

Code Toad has created the American Version below:

You can not coexist with 3rd world savages wanting to cut your head off!
