South Koreas newly elected president, Moon Jae-in, has suspended the deployment of an American missile defense system, an apparent concession to China and a significant break with the United States on policy toward North Korea.

Elections have consequences. South Korea elected this government and now they must live with it. Time for us to pull out and save some money.
No problem! Move it to Guam or Japan.
Time to pull our troops out of South Korea.
Pay for your own defense budget, S.K.
Okay them.
With that said, the US needs to pull out of SK, and they can deal with the norks and china by themselves.
Besides, those troops and assets would be more useful on the US-Mexico anyway.
At the very least I would start dumping any Korean stocks you may have in your portfolio, and start looking for alternative suppliers for goods produced there.
Jimmy Carter wanted us out. He had it wrong. Now? The South could kick butt as long as China stays out which the probably will. Put the 28k soldiers on out southern border.
Because being utterly defenseless against a raving lunatic is so much more sensible.
Maybe they just don’t want to pay for it like Trump was demanding? Tell the U.S. to take it out and South Korea doesn’t get the bill.
I wish we could’ve done that 40 years ago. What ingrates!
We’re still paying for refusing to permit MacArthur to win.
Compromising in war means paying a huge bill later.

Yeah, for sure. S. Korea has the wealth, population, critical mass to defend itself. So, let’s indeed pack up and leave. Oh, and stop giving them foreign aid. If S.K. wants to suck up to the PRC let them have at it.....
Didn’t England try that with Hitler in 1938?
I always had a feeling that the end game would be the Chinese and South Korea mutually agreeing to solve the North Korea problem.
Perhaps this is a sign that something is in the works.
Absolutely 100% right on.
If they don’t want our help, just tell us, those aircraft carriers and troops can be used elsewhere.
Those armadas should not be assembled without a high possibility of using them. I remember Clinton doing it and then backing off more than once.
If SOKO isn't serious about defending themselves, it makes the issue moot. Let's see.
Think that will placate Kim Fat ‘En? I say move our guys out of there and let’s just defend ourselves against the Norks. Roll the dice on your own, South.
