Iran's Revolutionary Guards say Saudi Arabia was behind twin attacks in Tehran on Wednesday that killed at least 12 people and injured 43, a statement published by the Guards said.
"This terrorist attack happened only a week after the meeting between the U.S. president (Donald Trump) and the (Saudi) backward leaders who support terrorists. The fact that Islamic State has claimed responsibility proves that they were involved in the brutal attack," said the statement, published by Iranian media.
The attacks were the first claimed by the hardline Sunni Muslim militant group in the tightly controlled Shi'ite Muslim Iran.
“They may be right. So what you going to do about it? “
We can only hope it’s true. Having SA do some of the “heavy lifting” in the ME would be a welcome change. But somewhere along the line, SA is going to have to “loose Wahabism,” and stop funding Wahabi mosques here.
Or, pissed off Persians from Isfahan were the perpetrators.
I’m betting the bombers were Persians, not Arabs
To fulfil the necessity to go to Mecca for the Hajj, the Iranian Mullahs must be exterminated as enemies of Isalm
Our “Friends” in this case financially supported the killing of 3000 Americans
Saudi Arabia is doing what they have to now because GOD only knows what Trump told them that terrified them to their core.
It hurts to see people (not you McGruff) praising Saudi Arabia lately.
I know they mean no disrespect and are glad SA is getting in line with the program to the extent that they can be trusted.
But it’s sure ironic.
And the scorpion hisses, “Thissss isss the Middle Easssst!”
Iran is probably far more organized for war than SA, and I suspect has a much larger force as well. If those two get into it, we are going to have to save SA. The irony of that will be a bit much to swallow.
Time to buy oil futures?
Be careful. The middle east is just waiting to explode. All out war ain’t a good thing
Never happen.
That’s a change. They usually always blame it on Israel.
The rest of the world had been dealing with terrorists for decades. WHy should Iran get a pass? Especially considering a good case can be made, they started a good deal of it.
It is if it is contained only in the Middle East against Mudslimes.
Reporter: "What should we do about the turmoil in the Middle East?"
Kissinger: "Surround it with barbed wire and come back in 1000 years and deal with the few people that are left".
Yeah the supposition is ludicrous at best. Russia is already there. Iran and Syria are closely linked. This won’t be just mussies
You are insane if you think Saudi Arabia sponsoring ISIS terrorist attacks in Iran is somehow good.
Sunni Wahhabi Jihadism is a worldwide movement. You cannot use it to attack Iran or Syria or Libya and not have it attack us too.
This sick Cold War era mentality that says jihadists are a tool of foreign policy needs to be buried for good.
Ruh Roh!
“The Eastern world, it is explodin’....”
No mention yet of the Satans great and small.
Oh indeed
I am not insane, I assure you! From my perspective, ANYTHING that is a destabilizer in Iran is a good thing. To connect it to “world-wide Wahabism is a stretch. I am not optimistic, but hopeful that Trump's visit to SA and his comments to the assembled $hit there, coupled with his new direction with respect to terrorism has given the Saudi’s pause. Those old bastards in the “house of saud,” are all scared $hitless of being overthrown. Perhaps Trump has “shown them” that they will be overthrown if they continue on their current track. If a nuclear weapon went off in the ME sufficient to wipe all of the Arabs off the face of the earth and somehow “missed” Israel, I'd drink a toast. Trump should start out by telling the Arabs that there isn't going to be a “Palestinian state” and that they should start absorbing their trash.
