He did not support legalization.
And yes, the amendment was indeed a poison pill, designed to destroy the bill. And it worked.
Everyone involved in that fight, from now-Attorney General Sessions to Senator Schumer, says so.
As I said, you lost this point during the primaries. But your guy won anyway, so I see no reason why you’re still trying to peddle this mythology.
I have never supported legalization, and I do not intend to support legalization, Cruz said. What you do is you enforce the law.

Border security is national security. We need to secure the border once and for all. We need to stop Obamas amnesty and enforce the rule of law. And we need to reform legal immigration to protect American workers.
Its not that we dont know how to solve illegal immigration. What is missing is the political will to get it done. As President, Ted Cruz will do what he says. He will stop illegal immigration. He will build a wall that works, triple border security, and put in place the surveillance and biometric tracking to secure the border.
Ted Cruz will end Obamas amnesty on day one, will end catch-and-release, increase deportations, stop sanctuary policies, and strengthen E-verify.
In order to protect our national security and serve American workers, he will suspend and audit H-1B visas and halt any increase in legal immigration so long as American unemployment remains unacceptably high.
Cruz led the fight in Congress to defeat the Gang of Eight amnesty bill, he has introduced strong legislation to stop illegal immigration, and he has outlined a detailed immigration plan to protect Americans.

Immigration: Block any current effort that lets undocumented immigrants legally remain in the U.S.
Cruz has particularly stressed his opposition to President Obamas executive actions on immigration. The Texas senator filed a bill blocking the presidents actions, which allow more undocumented residents to gain legal status, including the administrations waivers for young people brought to the U.S. as children. Cruz argues that those actions encouraged increased illegal immigration. In addition, Cruz opposed the 2013 comprehensive immigration bill which passed the U.S. Senate. He denounced the bill as offering amnesty. One of his amendments would have tripled the number of border patrol agents and quadrupled their equipment. It did not pass.
I can keep proving you wrong.
The fact that you had to make 3 or 4 separate posts proves you're full of feelings of desperation. I have seen this desperate behavior in religious cultists, such as Mormons, after seeing quotes from Joseph Smith lying about not being a polygamist, when at the time he had 10-12 wives. Notice that none of the 3 or 4 posts addressed the quotations presented or really properly refuted me at all.
I made a group of posts because the evidence is substantial and I didn’t want to make one so long that nobody would bother reading it. This is a website. It’s not a book.
Since I produced such substantial evidence, you need to divert the discussion from teh original point to a triviality about posting, rather than address the substance.
The posts, in fact, completely refute your position, to which your answer is to double down on it.
Notice that you still failed to respond to anything I wrote, or even bothered to address Cruz's quotes, hence you diverted to a triviality about posting LOL.
Cruz said he supported legalization, and no matter how much you try to obfuscate that fact or pound your chest with masturbatory posts like these, you will not change that fact.
