A gunman who killed a man and took a woman hostage before dying in a police shootout had been acquitted of plotting a terror attack at a Sydney army base years earlier, police said Tuesday. Three police officers were wounded. {snip} The gunman, Yacqub Khayre, 29, was one of two men acquitted by a jury in 2010 of plotting a suicide attack in Sydney. Three people were convicted of conspiracy in that plot, which police thwarted before it could be executed.

Protecting the public is no longer the governments responsibity. They are instead to protect criminals and loot the treasury.
In wartime you round up and intern the usual suspects and suspend their rights. We will get to this stage but many will die in the meantime.
One if the British terrorist s also was investigated. And was also released.
The short term solution to the terrorist problem is to intern en masse the usual suspects. The security services know who the suspects are. Pick them up and detain them. The government can decide to what to do with them later but get them off the streets RIGHT NOW.
There are all kinds of historical precedent for internment during wartime especially in North America. Canada and the US both had large gulags. There may have been abuses of the system but there was virtually no terrorism/sabotage during the war in North America. How about that?
Well the government did try him in court. You can thank the jury for letting terrorist killer back on the street.
Really makes me want to visit Australia. NOT.
The jurors should be a matter of public tecord. Post the faces of the three dead cops and their families to every social media account that have. Post it where they work, on their street corner.
Same for these traitors running our country. We hold them accountable because they asked us to.

Just for the record, the three police officers were not killed. One suffered minor injuries, two more serious but fortunately not life threatening injuries.
Well I guess my idea wouldn’t work. I am glad they are alive.
