As far as I can tell, the affidavit makes no mention of Russian attempts to “hack the voting system.” Is that what the news agency who published the story claimed?
There is nothing in the story to disclose either the news agency that received the Top secret material, or that it was ever published. Leak is about a month old. Leaker confessed.
Reading on, I think this classified NSA report is part of the basis for the unclassified report that came out in January, the one that referred to Guccifer 2.0, named the jaron shorthand for two of the hacker community’s phishing tools, etc. I wonder if it is roughly expansion of the Crowdstrike report.
