It’s even better than that. Title IX legislation is what is supposed to ensure that women/girls have equal access to and/or equal funding for sports. Liberals, especially the feminists, are uber proud and protective of Title IX. But, if you remove the definition of woman or girl, Title IX is meaningless. They’ve basically screwed over all the little girls they’re claiming to want to protect, all in the name of “inclusion.”

It's called "Virtue Signaling". It is especially strong in HS girls. Belonging to the popular group, the right cliques, the "in" crowd, matters far more than actual achievement. "Sure, I set the state record for actual females, but I lost to someone whom everyone bows to in PC worship, so therefore, I'm a Good Person for humbly accepting second place to a (fake) hero (and obvious cheater)."
