The dilemma (as you well know) for both Germany and the USA is that Incirlik base is in Turkey, which is in NATO. What are the chances we could use their base and not share intel with Turkey? Zero to nil, I would guess. Sharing intel with Turkey is surely a requirement of operating from their country. It’s a terrible situation. I would love to wash our hands of Turkey in every way, but what would we do without Incirlik? It’s not as though it’s easy to access all of Syria and Iraq. Carrier aircraft, sure, but that leaves out the USAF and a lot of logistical support needed.
