I am leery of him too, but I do think he’s a realist and he can’t compete with us.
Give the guy his glory moment, use him where we can.
We don’t need to go the McCain, Clinton route.
Letting the other side have some respect doesn’t have to be a bad thing. It allows them to look decent at home, and it makes them less likely to be angry and want to go to war with you.
You just have to be firm when it’s called for.

Agree with you on all of this. Keep him at arms length. Some will not call him by what he is a murderous dictator that would slash you threat and smile if you are an in country political enemy.
