North Dakota is not going to do shit to harass the pipeline as it is crucial to their exports of shale gas. Woe to the bureaucrat that tries to grandstand. North Dakotans talk slow and are friendly people but they can be hard. If something threatens the livelihoods of North Dakota it doesn’t stay around long. During prohibition North Dakota was a wild and wooly place, a major smuggling route from Canada to the Midwest and a lot of people got shot on both sides of the law.

Begins shipping oil (making money and paying taxes) TODAY!

The quibbling in the article could result in “tens of thousands of dollars in fines” (on a $3.8 billion pipeline).

The pipeline causes added economic activity at both ends - it reduces costs about $3/bbl.

Williston, ND is busy again.

The three-member North Dakota Public Service Commission is looking into whether Texas-based Energy Transfer Partners removed too many trees and shrubs along the pipeline route, and whether it improperly reported the discovery of Native American artifacts. No artifacts were disturbed.

Good grief. Sounds like the North Dakota Public Service Commission ought to get a real job.

Headline of the Day Poll

How do you feel about the Dakota Access Pipeline?

It jeopardizes the water supply and desecrates sacred Sioux land.
It is the safest and most environmentally sensitive way to transport crude oil from domestic wells to American consumers.

Our ranch is 42 square miles and theres not much of it that wasn’t traveled by the natives over thousands of years. Artifacts of their presence is every where.

Have you been to North Dakota? The number of trees and shrubs is quite limited and each one counts. I suspect that the number of trees and shrubs they removed is 4.

I am glad to see that tree and shrub lives finally matter.
